Cary police name suspect in shooting death of woman

Police are investigating a fatal shooting of a woman late Friday night.
Officers responded to calls of shots fired about 11 p.m. in the 200 block of Hyde Park Court and found Wendy Jean Johnson, 58, of Sanford, according to a news release from the Cary Police Department. Johnson was taken to Duke University Medical Center, where she died.
A warrant has been issued for for Daniel Scott Remington, 36, of Gooseneck Drive, Cary. Remington, a white male, is approximately 6’1”, weighing about 155 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He may be driving a silver or gray 2013 four-door Chevy Impala with Tennessee tags H2304R. He should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
Cary police ask anyone with information about the shooting to call 919-469-4012 or file a report anonymously with Cary Crime Stoppers at 919-460-4636. Crime Stoppers pays up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest or indictment. From staff reports
