Police charged two men with heroin trafficking and marijuana possession Sunday afternoon after officers stopped a minivan not far from Capital Boulevard.
Mark Anthony Denning, 33, of 430 Bluegrass Lane in Warrenton and Jerry Wayne Ayscue, 39, of 50 Blue Jay Lane in Franklinton were together in a 2002 Ford Aerostar, police said.
Both were charged with having about 6 grams of heroin made into 23 individual doses and 4 grams of marijuana in four 1-gram bags.
The heroin quantity cited was enough to bring two counts of trafficking in the drug for each man, and the packaging of the marijuana led to a felony charge for each of possession of marijuana with intent to sell it.

Denning was charged with using the Aerostar to keep and sell drugs.
Ayscue was charged with having illegal drugs on him when he was being taken into the Wake County Detention Center.
Police stopped the van at Purnell Road and Deer Path, less than a quarter-mile from Capital Boulevard.
Denning and Ayscue were held in lieu of $300,000 bail each for a Monday court appearance.
