A Raleigh man is in custody after police said he attempted to kill a woman and swung a knife at an officer’s head while being arrested.
Cory Allen Sanders, 26, of 1530 N. Raleigh Blvd, was arrested Saturday for assault with intent to kill, assault of a government officer and resisting a public officer. He was being held at Wake County Detention Center on a $75,000 bail, and has been ordered to not speak to the victim.
On Saturday, Sanders attempted to kill a woman with a knife, according to his arrest warrant. A Raleigh officer arrived at the scene and told Sanders to drop his weapon. Sanders ignored this request and instead swung a knife at the officer’s head.
Sanders was scheduled to appear at Wake County Justice Center Monday morning at 9 a.m.
