Police on Tuesday charged Christopher Tamar Debnam, 33, of Garner with three counts of statutory rape of a 15-year-old girl last fall between his being paroled from prison and arrested on a new charge by Raleigh police.
Debnam, whose home address is listed in arrest records as 917 Seventh Ave., was served with arrests warrants at the Wake County Detention Center, where sheriff’s office records show he is serving a sentence.
In arrest warrants, police said the incidents happened between Sept. 29 and Dec. 3, 2013.
County records showed Debnam was tentatively scheduled to be released Nov. 15, but a magistrate set bail at $1 million on the new charges.
Raleigh police had arrested him Feb. 7 on charges of assault on a female and assault in the presence of a minor on Jan. 23.
Debnam had been convicted in July 2012 of larceny of a motor vehicle and receiving a stolen vehicle the month before.
He was in prison until Sept. 28, 2013, then released on parole the day before Garner police charged that the statutory rape began.
Authorities revoked his parole in January 2014, before the alleged assault in Raleigh, and he was returned to prison when Raleigh police arrested him in February.
He finished that sentence on Sept. 20 and was moved to the Wake County Detention Center to serve time there.
