Police arrested a Rocky Mount man Wednesday night, saying he is the person they were looking for in a peeping incident in which a man was using a cell phone to take photos of a woman.
Pierre Ulysses Coley, 26, was charged at detective headquarters after questioning, records showed.
Police had asked the public for help Oct. 26 in identifying a man who was seen leaving a Target store where the incident happened, and spokeswoman Laura Hourigan said Thursday that media stories about the case brought tips that helped police find Coley.
He is accused of felony secret peeping on Oct. 12, when a woman said a man had been trying to take a picture under her clothing.
Police listed an address of 4604 Morning Glory Way in Rocky Mount when they swore out a warrant for him four days after the call for help finding the suspect. he gave booking officers no permanent address, however.
Coley was held on $15,000 bail for a court appearance Thursday.
