A 74-year-old Garner man has been charged with felony death by motor vehicle three weeks after a crash on Timber Drive that killed a man from Angier.
John Bergman had been charged with DWI and running a red light. The felony charge was added Wednesday.
The six-car crash took place about 3:35 p.m. on Sept. 1 at the intersection of Timber Drive and Vandora Springs Road. Police say Bergman’s Honda Accord went through a red light on Vandora Springs and hit a car driven by Tyrone Pugh that was waiting to make a left turn from Timber Drive onto Vandora Springs.
Pugh, 56, died at WakeMed Raleigh hospital.
