A man was stabbed in the neck during an argument Monday night on South Roxboro Street, and police charged a second man with assault with intent to kill.
Robert Earl Terry, 52, was being held in lieu of $500,000 bail Tuesday in the incident, which was reported about 10:30 p.m.
The injured man was taken to a hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Lt. Brian Reitz said officers found Terry nearby and detained him for questioning. He was arrested after witnesses told police he was the one they had seen with the weapon.
Terry gave police a home address in the area where the incident happened, at 2586 S. Roxboro St., Reitz said.
The formal charge against Terry was assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
