Police say a Garner man stabbed a victim five times in the back, "requiring numerous stitches and causing a collapsed lung," according to an arrest warrant.
Derek Louis Griffis, 20, of Forest Ridge Road in Garner, is accused of causing cuts to the victim's arms, head and thigh in the June 1 incident.
Investigators arrested and charged him Friday with assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury.
Griffis already has convictions for common law robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and attempted possession of a firearm by a felon.
He remained at the Wake County Jail Saturday on a $150,000 bond.
