A man who police said lived in Chapel Hill was found shot to death on Wiggins Street on Tuesday night, and police say they are handling the case as a homicide.
Officers discovered the body of 33-year-old Antoine Bernard Troublefield outdoors after being sent to investigate a report of a shooting a little before 9:15 p.m., police spokesman Wil Glenn said.
Police did not disclose whether they knew why Troublefield was in Durham at the time of the shooting. He was in the 3600 block of Wiggins, between Old Oxford Road and Hoyle Street, police said.
They asked anyone with information about the incident to call Investigator Hines at 919-560-4440 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.
