A Raleigh police recruit was charged Monday with misdemeanor stalking, communicating threats and making a harassing phone call three months ago.
Tyler Monet Newkirk, 24, of 2932 Neals Creek Drive in Raleigh was arrested Monday afternoon at police headquarters at 6716 Six Forks Road.
The charges say the offenses all happened on Aug. 1. Newkirk’s recruit class began Oct. 10.
Newkirk was placed on “administrative leave pending the completion of a personnel process,” police spokesman Jim Sughrue said.
Police recruits are paid during their training.
