Police on Thursday evening arrested a man whom Wendell police had charged with trafficking in heroin and having cocaine in a car and at a house on West Third Street last month.
Shaun Maurice Johnson Jr., 25, of 2701 Springhill Ave. in Raleigh is named in arrest warrants that Wendell police obtained Oct. 18.
Raleigh police stopped Johnson at Barwell and Poole roads and took him into custody after, they charged, he had fled from a Wake County sheriff’s deputy who was trying to stop his car.
According to the arrest warrants, Wendell authorities believe Johnson had 4 grams of heroin and 12 grams of cocaine in a house at 441 W. Third St. on Oct. 17. Four grams is the minimum quantity needed for police to be able to charge someone with trafficking, a more serious felony than possession.

They also charged that he used the house and a 2010 Chevrolet Impala to keep and sell the drugs.
Wendell police had charged Johnson with having marijuana paraphernalia, resisting and obstructing police and driving with a revoked license on the day they charged he had the drugs, but that arrest was on Eagle Rock Road and did not involved heroin or cocaine.
Raleigh police charged Johnson with fleeing in a motor vehicle to elude arrest Wednesday.
Johnson was held in lieu of $363,000 bail and scheduled for a Thursday court appearance. He already was slated to be in court Friday concerning the Oct. 17 allegation that he was driving with a revoked license.
