A 27 year-old Raleigh man surrendered to Knightdale police Wednesday on an armed assault charge stemming from a Nov. 10 incident in which a man was wounded after he and another man had words on a street in town.
Christopher Aldarias Reives was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury on Darric McKayhan, 45.
The shooting happened on Hinton Oaks Boulevard about 9 a.m. that day.
Witnesses told police that a man got out of a vehicle and approached McKayhan and was talking to him before there was a shot. Knightdale police say a business dispute between the two men led to an altercation that ended when McKayhan was shot.
Reives, whose address was listed in arrest records as 2701 Red Ruby Lane in Raleigh, went to police headquarters on Steeple Square Court and turned himself in to Detective J.H. Jones, Capt. Jacqui Boykin said.
Reives was held in the Wake County Detention Center in lieu of $5,000 bail.
