Police were investigating a Monday morning shooting in which a McDonald's employee was shot as he arrived to open the restaurant on N.C. 55 near Interstate 40.
The man did not have life-threatening injuries, police said.
The incident may have been a robbery attempt, a supervisor on the scene said.
The shooting happened shortly after 5 a.m.
Police officers and a Durham County Sheriff’s Office K-9 officer and his partner were on the scene in the darkened parking lot around the building at 4717 N.C. 55, but there was no information right away about a suspect.
