Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman talks with the media after Joseph Michael Conover, 39, a law enforcement officer with Nova Company Police Agency, a a private security company with contracts in Raleigh, pleaded guilty to abusing his authority, using excessive force and creating inaccurate police reports for people he arrested. "This was the worst case of abuse of authority that I have experienced and seen up close in my 20 years in working in the criminal justice system. This is the kind of person that does not need to wear a badge," said Lorrin Freeman.
