Raleigh police continue to investigate the shooting of a man in southwest Raleigh near N.C. State University on Thursday. They arrested one man Sunday in connection with the shooting.
Police responded to a reported shooting on Stovall Drive on Thursday, according to a news release from the city. The release did not say what time police arrived.
Police found Rodney Leon Torres, 18, who had a gunshot would that was not life threatening.
The shooting happened in the 1700 block of Kayla Court, about a mile from N.C. State University.
Police arrested a 19-year-old homeless man, Travis Jamal Wilkins, in connection with the shooting on Sunday. Wilkins was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Police still are investigating.
