The arrest of a 25-year-old woman Tuesday on a marijuana-growing charge came a week before she is scheduled to appear in court on marijuana-trafficking and child-abuse charges from a July drug bust.
Nastasia Renee Evans Culbreth had been arrested along with Darius Tyrell Hinton Sr. on charges of marijuana trafficking and child abuse for what police alleged was having almost 15 pounds of the drug in a West Jameson Road house where four children lived.
Culbreth was free on bail and awaiting a court appearance Sept. 5 when, records show, police arrested her Tuesday afternoon at a Capital Boulevard shopping center.
The charges in arrest warrants that were issued Sunday accused Culbreth of having about 382 grams (about 13.5 ounces) of marijuana, having marijuana plants weighing about 6 ounces, using the house to keep and sell drugs.
The warrants said police believed Culbreth had the marijuana last Friday.
Hinton, 28, was arrested a second time early this month when police accused him of growing marijuana plants in a house in the 1000 block of Suffolk Boulevard.
Detectives had sworn out that arrest warrant for Hinton on July 27. They arrested him at the Wake County Justice Center as he was leaving after a court appearance.
Hinton is due in court next Tuesday on one of the child-abuse counts from the July arrest. He is scheduled for Sept. 12 for a hearing on the other three child-abuse charges and the marijuana charges.
