Police are trying to find two men, shown in newly released sketches, for questioning in a March 16 shooting at a Park West Village apartment.
A person in the apartment was shot in the leg during a dispute that broke out after four people approached the apartment, Chief Ira Jones said. A second occupant was assaulted, police said at the time.
Officials have not disclosed whether the two other suspects are men or women.
The apartment is in The Bristol complex on the 3000 block of Bristol Creek, near Park West 14 movie theater in the sprawling retail and residential complex.
The victims were not critically hurt, police said the night of the incident. They were taken to Duke Hospital for treatment.
The four fled in a Dodge Charger that police later spotted, and police said officers “engaged” it but did not catch it.
Jones said a few days after the shooting that tips had come in from the community but declined to comment on specifics. He didn’t say what might have led to the shooting.
After the incident, Sgt. Chris Rhew was hospitalized for what police said was an unrelated medical issue. Jones said later that week that Rhew was “fine” and would be returning to work.
Police are asking anyone who has information about the identity of the men shown in the sketches to contact police through Crime Stoppers at 919-463-1577 or the Criminal Investigations Division at 919-463-1653.
