Police are looking for a man they arrested Wednesday on drug and other charges and who later escaped after they took him to Duke University Hospital for medial treatment.
Police did not say how Deon Marquez McArthur, 23, was able to flee the hospital. In a statement, they said McArthur was taken to Duke “for treatment of a medical issue,” but they did not disclose whether it was related to his arrest.
McArthur, who lives on Thames Avenue, was arrested Wednesday afternoon on charges of possession of stolen goods, using a vehicle to keep and store drugs and possession of marijuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia, said police spokeswoman Kammie Michael.
Police asked anyone who has information about McArthur to call CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200. CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.
