A 25-year-old man was arrested Monday at a home in northwest Raleigh and charged with a homicide that occurred about two weeks ago in Columbus County.
Rykeem O'Brian Tyler was arrested at a home near the Brier Creek community, according to the City County Bureau of Identification.
Investigators think Tyler, who lives in Fair Bluff, a small town roughly 130 miles south of Raleigh, is responsible for the shooting death of Brandon Maurice Moore on April 4.
Fair Bluff Police Chief Chris Chafin said officers were called to Scott Street just after 7 p.m. following reports of shots fired. The officers found Moore in the street. He had been shot through the eye, according to media reports.
Moore, 22, died the next day in New Hanover Regional in Wilmington.
Tyler was taken to the Wake County jail, where he is being held without benefit of bail, according to the arrest warrant filed Monday at the Wake County Magistrate's Office.
