Police around Wake County want to remind residents that they are on the lookout for impaired drivers all the time, but especially during this holiday weekend.
The Raleigh Police Department said it conducted a multi-agency checkpoint from 12:30 a.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday in the 2400 block of Glenwood Avenue.
In the end, officers made 12 driving while impaired arrests, along with citations or arrests for various other charges, a RPD release said.
Officers from the Apex Police Department, the Cary Police Department, the N.C. State University Police Department, the Wake Forest Police Department and the Wake County Sheriff’s Office assisted. A Wake County magistrate was also on hand to help process the drivers who were charged.
Raleigh Police have not announced any other checkpoint for this weekend.
