A 24-year-old Apex man with prior convictions for marijuana and cocaine possession was being held in lieu of $1 million bail Monday following his arrest Friday on six counts of cocaine trafficking and other charges.
Apex police arrested Benjamin William Alden at his home at 1117 Seagram St. on warrants charging he had sold a little over an ounce of cocaine to an undercover Wake County sheriff’s deputy on May 8 and on Friday.
Detectives also charged Alden with maintaining a place on Gilby Road for selling drugs around the corner from where he lives in the Larry Taylor Homes mobile home park.
In addition, officers charged Alden with felony possession of about 1.5 more ounces of cocaine and about 0.4 ounces of marijuana as well as potting soil and and other gear that police claimed was for growing marijuana.
Alden was convicted in 2008 and 2012 of numerous drug charges, including possession with intent to see marijuana and cocaine.
A magistrate cited the record in setting bail.
