A 44-year-old Raleigh man has been charged with a series of sexual offenses involving the same girl in 2007 and in 2013 and 2014.
The charges listed in an arrest warrant when police took Marvin Christopher Jones into custody on Friday indicate that the girl was as young as 6 in the earliest cases.
Jones, of 714 S. East St., was accused of first-degree sexual offense with a child from late January of 2007 until a year later.
The next accusation listed in the warrant is a first-degree rape charge that police said happened from late January 2013 until late January 2014. Police charge first-degree rape if the victim is under 13 years old or force is used.
Between late January 2014 and the end of the year, police charged that Jones took indecent liberties with the girl. That charge specifies that the victim is under 16.
A magistrate set Jones’ bail at $500,000 and placed him on monitored house arrest as well as ordering that he have no contact with anyone under 18.
He was slated for a first court appearance Monday.
