Police have arrested one man and are looking for another who have been charged in the shooting death of a man found outside a home on West Harnett Street late Sunday.
Jermale Tavaris Williams, 29, was charged with first-degree murder by Benson detectives and turned himself in to authorities in Wake County about 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers are still searching for his brother, Terry Lamont Williams, 33, who is charged with being an accessory after the fact in first-degree murder. He should be considered armed and dangerous, according to police.
Police said the men, who both have Benson addresses, were seen leaving the scene of Richard Longmire’s killing in a yellow Chevrolet Camaro.
Terry Lamont might also be operating a white, older Ford Expedition, police said.
Longmire was found with two gunshot wounds on the lawn of 325 W. Harnett St. shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police asked anyone with information about Terry Williams to call officers at 919-894-2091.
