Police say a man found dead outside a home on the east side of town on Sunday was shot to death, but as of late Monday they still didn’t know who he was.
Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Ashe Street around 6:30 p.m. and found the man dead behind the house, said spokesman Wil Glenn.
Glenn said officers initially believed someone might be barricaded in the house, but say they did not find anyone.
Police kept the residential street closed Monday morning after spending all night at the two-family house. They asked anyone with information about the man’s death to call Investigator J. Barr at 919-560-4440, ext. 29325, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
