A man has been charged in connection with a drive-by shooting on Tuesday that wounded a toddler.
Marion Lacount Laney, 26, of Durham, was arrested Friday evening by Durham police and members of the U.S. Marshals Service, police stated in a news release.
Shots were fired Tuesday afternoon from a vehicle on Great Bend Drive, and officers found a 1 1/2-year-old boy wounded inside a house, according to the news release. The boy was not the target of the shooting, but the attack does not appear to be random, investigators said.
The boy was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released.
