A second person has been charged with armed robbery and felony conspiracy in connection with street stickups one day last month on Mayfair Street and Nation Avenue.
Police arrested Derashio Devonte Wilson, 20, on Thursday. He was charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of conspiring with 16-year-old Montre Jaronte Cates.
Cates, who was arrested Wednesday, and Wilson are accused of using handguns to hold up a man and woman on Mayfair Street and taking their cell phones, the man’s wallet and the woman’s purse.
The other robbery involved two men who told police their phones and cash were taken.
Both happened Jan. 3, and the victims in both cases said masked men had robbed them.
The man and woman told police that three robbers accosted them. Police said their investigation was continuing.
Wilson was held on $500,000 bail, the same amount set for Cates.
Wilson also was charged with cocaine possession and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods. Police did not disclose whether the stolen items were from the Jan. 3 incidents.
