An arrest Tuesday afternoon on Tranquility Lane, near Knightdale, involved charges that were anything but tranquil.
Wake County sheriff’s deputies charged William Conrad Fortier, 65, of 217 Tranquility Lane with five counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, firing into an occupied Toyota Avalon and damaging personal property.
None of the people in the car was hit when Fortier fired a shot from a rifle, according to the charges.
Deputies listed the shooting scene as 212 Tranquility Lane, near where Fortier’s driveway comes into the street.
It was not clear what led to the incident.
Fortier was held on $500,000 bail for a Wednesday court appearance.
