NC tax investigators arrested a state hospital worker this week, saying she told her agency that she did not have to pay state income taxes in 2009, 2013 and 2014.
The agents arrested Euvonne Sherell Sneed, 46, of 503 West C St. in Butner as day shifts were ending Monday at the Department of Health and Human Services’ Central Regional Hospital there.
Arrest warrants sworn out by the Department of Revenue agents accused Sneed of three counts of attempting to evade taxes by filing a state withholding form, NC-4, saying she was exempt from from having taxes taken out of her pay in the years listed.
The DOR also charged Sneed with willfully not filing a 2012 state income tax return when she was required to do that.
Never miss a local story.
Sneed was taken to appear in front of a Wake County magistrate because state agencies are headquartered in Raleigh and make criminal charges in Wake.
She was released on a $10,000 secured bond and told to appear in court Tuesday. A judge set her next court appearance for April 12.
