Raleigh police narcotics officers set up a drug buy Thursday night, then charged three men with having more than 6 pounds of marijuana at an apartment complex on Falls of Neuse Road.
They also charged one of the trio with having 14 counterfeit gift cards and a computer and machine for writing information onto cards.
Abdoulaye Diagne, 30, James Hart Francis, 25, and Pa Gibbi Njie, 28, were charged with possession of 2,759 grams of marijuana, which is slightly over 6 pounds, and maintaining an apartment at 5208 Falls of Neuse Road to keep drugs.
Diagne and Njie were charged with selling and delivering marijuana to a police informant.
Njie was charged with financial card forgery, possession of counterfeit instruments and criminal possession of devices for forging cards.
Njie was booked into the Wake County Detention Center with an address of 7407 Sandy Creek Drive. He was held in lieu of $100,000 bail, with a magistrate noting that police said they believed he was a flight risk.
Njie is also on 18 months’ probation for a January 2014 conviction for having tools for forgery.
Diagne was listed on an arrest warrant as living in Boulder, Colo., but he was booked as having no permanent address. He was held on $75,000 because police told a magistrate that they believed he, too, was a flight risk if he were released.
Francis, who lives in Northlyn, Colo., was held on $25,000 bail.
All were scheduled for court appearances Friday.
