A man who is serving three years' probation for a conviction involving child pornography was arrested by Cary police Wednesday and charged with 15 counts of having those kinds of photos on a computer.
Ken Preston Murray, 57, was arrested at his home at 453 Peeble Creek Drive, records showed.
Detective Kevin West, a specialist in tracing Internet traffic in illegal pictures and videos, charged Murray with 15 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Arrest warrants said the pornography involved still photos of children in their early teens.
Murray was arrested in 2010 on a charge of second-degree sexual exploitation, which involves copying or transmitting pornography involving minors. He was convicted in August 2013 of the lesser charge of third-degree exploitation.
The arrest warrant Wednesday stated that Murray had the images on Feb. 18. State probation officers charged him with probation violation on March 17, records showed.
Murray was held on $1 million bail for a Thursday court appearance on the exploitation charges.
