Police are searching for a man who walked into a bank late Friday morning, handed a teller a note demanding money and then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No injuries were reported.
The robbery happened just before 10:30 a.m. at the Four Oaks Bank on Garner Station Boulevard, according to police. Witnesses described the suspect as a dark-complexioned African-American man with a slim build. He appeared to be in his late 20s to early 30s and stands about 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 5 inches tall.
He was last seen wearing a black shirt, red ball cap, and jeans. Investigators found the shirt and cap a short distance away from the robbery behind the Carlie C’s IGA grocery store, according to police.

Witnesses said the suspect left on foot north into the shopping center.
