The State Highway Patrol believes that alcohol and speed were factors in a fatal Friday night wreck near Knightdale that killed two people.
At about 6:30 a.m. Saturday, troopers found a 2007 Ford Explorer lyihng on its side off the roadway on Mial Plantation Road at Major Slade Road. Troopers found the two deceased victims partially ejected from the vehicle.
Investigators believe the accident happened overnight, but the exact time hasn’t been determined yet.
In addition to believing that alcohol and speed were factors, investigators say neither occupant had been wearing a seat belt.

The victims have been identified as Sean Desmone McKoy, 29 and Randy Kent Norris Jr., 27, both of Knightdale. Troopers believe McKoy was driving.
