A man from Raleigh and one from Cary were scheduled for Monday court appearances after police in Raleigh and Cary charged them in connection with armed robberies at six businesses that began June 20 and a robbery of an individual.
Dalton Dwaine Christmas, 23, of 901 Lorimer Road in Raleigh and Leonardo Martinez, 29, of 105 E. Circle Drive in Cary were arrested Friday near Martinez’s residence, Raleigh police said. Officers from both departments made the arrests.
Christmas was charged with seven counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and four counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Martinez was charged with four counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit an armed robbery. He also was charged with a felony breaking-and-entering charge and with larceny by an employee.
The first robbery was June 20 at a McDonald’s restaurant at 1299 Kildaire Farm Road in Cary, police said.
The most recent stickup was at a Park-N-Stop at 421 Chatham St. in the town.
Between those were a robbery at Party Beverage on Western Boulevard in Raleigh, a robbery from an individual on Marsh Avenue in Raleigh, a robbery at Tienda El Primo on Nottingham Drive in Cary, Priscilla McCall’s on Western Boulevard and a robbery at Customer Comes First African Braids on Western Boulevard.
Christmas was held in lieu of $1.3 million bail. Martinez was held in lieu of $1.070 million.
