N.C. State University had a record fundraising total last year, bringing in $208.5 million.
In the 2014-15 fiscal year, the university saw an 11 percent increase in donations from the previous year. NCSU officials said Friday that private fundraising has jumped 133 percent since 2010, when Chancellor Randy Woodson began his tenure. The university’s endowment reached $984 million by June 30, inching toward $1 billion.
Last year, several colleges at NCSU, including agriculture and life sciences, design, education, humanities and social sciences, textiles and veterinary medicine, had robust increases. Gifts to the university’s division of academic and student affairs doubled, while donations to athletics and the Wolfpack Club were up 38 percent.
NCSU is preparing to launch a multi-year fundraising campaign, the goal of which has not been announced.
