Caroline Daily, who teaches eighth grade language arts at Riverwood Middle School, has been named to the Governor’s Task Force on Safer Schools.
Daily was sworn in by state Supreme Court Justice Bob Edmunds during the task force’s April 6 meeting at the N.C. Department of Public Safety in Raleigh. She will serve a two-year term and is the only North Carolina teacher on the committee.
“I am so proud of Ms. Daily for representing teachers and schools,” said Riverwood Middle School Principal Kerri Evans. “She is an asset to Johnston County Schools.”
As a member, Daily will assist the task force in providing guidance to the N.C. Center for Safer Schools and help consider policy and legislative action needed to improve school safety in North Carolina.
