Students from eight schools recently competed Junior Leadership Johnston County 2015.
The Junior Leadership Johnston program helps young people prepare for leadership positions in business, community, education and government affairs.
The weeklong program, hosted by Johnston Community College, is open to rising high school juniors, who visit and learn from local leaders in business and industry, health care, nonprofit agencies, tourist attractions and county government, including law enforcement.
Highlights of this year’s program included tours of Novo Nordisk, Sysco, the Ava Gardner Museum, Johnston County Heritage Center, the Clayton Center for Active Aging, Johnston Health, the Clayton Fire Department and the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
The students met with the superintendent of Johnston County schools.
