Frank Adams Hobart III has earned the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout Award, which will be presented on Saturday.
For his Eagle project, Adams oversaw the construction and installation of 12 Blue Bird houses at the Karen Beasley Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Surf City.
Adams is the son of Drs. Frank Hobart and Betsy von Biberstein and grandson of John and Frances Hobart of Smithfield and Richard and Carolyn Biberstein of Burgaw. He is a member of Troop 212 of the Cape Fear Council. In July of 2015, he attended Philmont Scout Reservation in Cimarron, New Mexico.
Adams is a junior at New Hanover High School and is dual enrolled with the North Carolina School of Science and Math in Durham. He is interested in math and engineering.
