Three members of BSA Troop 212 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary have attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Boy Scouting. Here’s what they did for their projects:
Zachary Albert Everson led several scouts and adults to create two raised bed gardens for Genesis United Methodist Church in Cary, where preschool classes can learn to garden and work cooperatively by growing vegetables and flowers.
Spencer Luke Bowman led more than a dozen scouts and adults to build four benches for Dorcas Ministries in Cary, providing customers a place to sit before and after shopping at the thrift store.
Andrew Joseph Lopez led a team of scouts and adults in creating a depth study of the Riggsbee Farm Community Pond. With this information, the Homeowners’ Association board will be able to make better decisions regarding pond maintenance, future budgeting, and environmental stewardship.
Never miss a local story.
All three scouts attend Green Hope High School, where they are in the marching band. They also all play trumpet in the Green Hope Jazz Band and cornet for the Triangle Youth Academy Brass Band.
