Katherine Miller and Sarah Thomas were named 2016-2017 North Carolina State FFA Officers. Sarah will serve as Vice President and Katherine as Secretary.
Sarah is a 2016 graduate of Jordan Matthews High School. She is the first FFA state officer to be selected from Jordan Matthews. She is the daughter of Jean Bulllis and Donnie Thomas and will be attending N.C. State University where she will major in Agricultural Business Management.
Katherine is a 2015 graduate of Chatham Central High School. She attends N.C. State University where she is majoring in Plant and Soil Sciences with a Crop Biotechnology concentration. She is the daughter of David and Christine Miller.
Six student members represent the association as a State FFA Officer.
FFA was created in 1928 as the Future Farmers of America; the name was changed in 1988 to the National FFA Organization to represent the growing diversity of agriculture.
There are currently more than 20,000 FFA members in over 250 FFA Chapters across North Carolina.
