Melissa Martin of Wake Forest was awarded the Levine Scholarship from UNC-Charlotte. She is a graduate of Franklin Academy High School, where she was a member of the Board of Valedictorians, National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, National English Honor Society and National Dance Honor Society.
She was a North Carolina Scholar and Outstanding Community Service Award Recipient and was active in the creative writing club, travel club, archery club and varsity tennis team.
The Levine Scholars Program covers tuition, fees, room, board and books, as well as four summer experiences. Melissa’s first summer experience was a 24-day backpacking trip in Wyoming through the National Outdoor Leadership School.
Melissa is the daughter of Steve and Vicki Martin. She plans to study psychology.
