Wake County names principal to Powell Elementary School

Curtis Brower, an assistant principal at Ligon Middle School, will become the new principal of Powell Elementary School in Raleigh. Interim principals were named to Garner and Panther Creek high schools and Timber Drive Elementary School.

The Wake County school board announced one permanent and three interim principals on Tuesday.

Curtis Brower will become principal of Powell Elementary School in Raleigh at a salary of $77,267. He’s currently an assistant principal at Ligon Middle School in Raleigh.

Retired principals were appointed to fill in temporarily at three schools. David Rockefeller will be interim principal of Garner High School. Danny Barnes will stay at Panther Creek High School in Cary until Sept. 26. Vicki Perry will be at Timber Drive Elementary School in Garner from Oct. 6 to Nov. 14.
