The Wake County school board’s student achievement committee will talk about Project Enlightenment, the Vernon Malone College & Career Academy and the district’s 2013-14 test results at today’s meeting.
School administrators will talk about the work of Project Enlightenment, which provides services for children from birth to age 5. The committee will also get an overview of the work done by the Office of Early Learning.
The committee will also get an update on the Vernon Malone College & Career Academy, the new career and technical education high school that opened in August.
A third topic is a review of Wake’s 2013-14 state test results and graduation rates. Administrators didn’t hype the results last week, which is in line with how school board members had mocked the State Board of Education for lowering the passing standards for state exams.
Never miss a local story.
The final agenda item is a discussion of topics for future meetings.
