The Wake County school board appointed twp retired educators on Tuesday to serve as interim principals for Holly Springs High School and Timber Drive Elementary School.
Ramey Beavers was hired on a contract running from Dec. 1 to Dec. 19 to lead Holly Springs High, where Principal Timothy Locklair is leaving to become an area superintendent. Beavers has served as an interim principal, most recently for nearly all of the 2013-14 school year at Fuquay-Varina High School, since he retired as Wake’s head of student assignment in 2006.
Roy Teel will lead Timber Drive Elementary from Nov. 25 to Dec. 19. The Garner school has been without a permanent leader since Kendra Culberson was named in August to be principal of Herbert Akins Elementary in Fuquay Varina. Teel has served as an interim principal at various schools since retiring as principal of Broughton High School in Raleigh in 2009.
