The Wake County school board voted Tuesday night to purchase land for a new elementary school in southwest Cary.

The board agreed to offer $2,797,500 – at $125,000 per acre – for 22.38 acres located south of Morrisville Parkway and west of White Oak Church Road. County records show that the assessed tax value is $993.376.

The two parcels have a street address of 1512 and 1516 White Oak Church Road. The real estate pin numbers are 0723-39-2000 and 0723-39-3198.

It’s E-37 on the school district’s list of school sites.

As with any other school land purchase, the final decision rests with the Wake County Board of Commissioners.
