Normally a discussion about use of school prototypes could be interesting but not necessarily newsworthy.
But the issue has gotten a lot more attention following questions that Wake County Board of Commissioners raised last week about the school district’s use of prototype designs. After questioning why new designs were being proposed for four new schools instead of reusing prototypes, commissioners balked at giving $3 million for design funds.
The Wake County school board’s facilities committee will discuss today the district’s use of prototypes. School leaders say Commissioner Paul Coble, who was the most vocal about the prototype issue, has been invited to attend.
