The Wake County school system has extended the application period for magnet schools, early colleges, single-sex leadership academies and the Vernon Malone College and Career Academy by two days to Feb. 11.

The filing deadline was originally supposed to be 10 p.m. on Feb. 9. But school officials announced today that the deadline is being extended by 48 hours because school was closed last week.

The notification date will still be Feb. 21.
