Wake County reschedules Superintendent’s forum in Cary

Wake County Superintendent Jim Merrill will hold two more community forums in February, including a Feb. 24 event at Green Hope High School in Cary to replace an event that was canceled last month because of the snow.

Wake County school employees, parents and other members of the community have two more chances to directly tell Superintendent Jim Merrill about their thoughts on the school system.

Wake has rescheduled to Feb. 24 the “Direct Line” forum that had originally been planned for Jan. 29 at Panther Creek High School in Cary before the snow canceled the event. The “makeup” forum will now be at Green Hope High School, 2500 Carpenter Upchurch Road in Cary.

Before that one, the next forum will be on Feb. 17 at Wakefield High School, 2200 Wakefield Pines Drive in North Raleigh.

Just as with the first three forums, people can begin signing up to speak at 4 p.m. on the day of the event. The time from 4:30 to 6 p.m. is reserved for school employees to speak. The time for parents and other members of the public to speak is from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
