Wake County schools to be closed Thursday

Wake County school officials have announced that school will be closed Thursday but no announcement has been made yet when Wednesday’s snow day will be made up.

To no one’s surprise, Wake County schools will be closed Thursday because of the inclement weather.

No announcement has been made yet about when Wednesday’s snow day will be made up. Also unknown is whether the upcoming preplanned snow days will still take place.

Year-round students are supposed to have a makeup day on Saturday. Students at traditional-calendar schools, modified-calendar schools, the early colleges and the single-sex leadership academies are supposed to have a makeup day on Monday – Presidents Day.

The other previously scheduled makeup days are:

• Traditional-calendar students have classes on March 28, April 21 and June 11.
• Year-round students, who had their first makeup day on Feb. 8, also have classes on April 26 and May 3.
• Modified-calendar students will attend school on March 10, March 11 and April 21.
• Early college and single-sex leadership academy students will make up the days on April 21, May 29 and May 30.
