Wake County schools closed Tuesday

Wake County school officials announced shortly before 7:30 a.m. that schools will be closed instead of ona three-hour delay.

UPDATE: Following Tuesday morning’s review of road conditions, Wake announced shortly before 7:30 a.m. that schools would be closed for the day.

Wake County parents and students should expect to wake up early Tuesday morning, March 18, to find out if the newly announced three-hour delay turns into a snow day.

Wake tweeted that schools would open Tuesday on a three-hour delay because of the expected icy road conditions. The news was retweeted 2,054 times in eight minutes.

But the tweet also came with the warning that the district would update at 7 a.m. Tuesday.
