The Wake County board appointed a new assistant superintendent and several interim positions on Tuesday.

Brad McMillen was named assistant superintendent for data and accountability, filling a position that’s been vacant for a couple of years following a reorganization of that department. McMillen, whose new salary will be $121,440, has been a senior director in the department since 2006.

Kathryn Chontos’ stay as interim assistant superintendent for student support services was extended through April 30. She’s held the job since January.

Danny Barnes’ stay as interim principal of Green Hope High School in Cary was extended to June 13. He’s been at the school since January.

Roy Teel was named interim principal of Knightdale Elementary School from April 3 to June 12. He’s held various interim positions since his retirement.
